The Second Week

For the second week I had already been given a chance by one of our mentors Ms. Emi to handle classes of grade seven and nine On Monday 30th of January 2018. In the grade seven classes, the material were about the poems. The students were assigned to make their on poems and did it in a group and read it in front of the class. The theme was about the think that might be extinct or vanished in the future.
The students were so well-spoken and active. This is the group of Solidarity reading their poems entitled Nature. The students were also asked to deliberate and synthesize the moral values of their poem to them as a seventh grade students. I was impressed by the way they were delivering the answer, how they put their thoughts and opinion in a very good way and well chosen diction.
In the class of grade nine Falcon, we were discussing about the poems entitled The Battle Hymn of Republic written by Julia Ward Howe in 1861 and a famous speech delivered by Abraham Lincoln entitled Gettysburg Address in 1863. These topics are related to the historical events existed in America, the civil war. In one hour I handled the class by conducting a group discussion about the the story and messages from those two kinds of literature. In addition, the skills in delivering poems and speeches are also important for students to know, so the students are given some tips how to do speeches and performing poems.

I had other several classes for the same grades, seven and nine for the whole week. The thing that really took my attention in those classes was the way the teacher and the students build their bond to each other. There, the place where I saw how brotherhood and parenthood can be build in school.
